The ATP Board
has decided to make the April meeting a group discussion of four subjects selected
by various members. The April ATP meeting will facilitate a discussion
on the following topics:
Jody Hessler, a technical
sales engineer with AT&T Inc, will lead a discussion on Staying Up-to-Date in an Ever Changing
Technical World. This topic will discuss different methods of keeping current by using
methods such as technical dictionaries, white papers and seminars.
A discussion on
podcasting will be presented by Mark Garrett, Information Technology
Specialist with the Central Ohio Special Education Regional Resource Center
(COSERRC). What's all the buzz about podcasting? What is podcasting? Who is
using podcasting? Does podcasting work in the corporate environment? A quick
overview on building and deploying podcasts will be given.
Sean Sadr of Sogeti, Practice
Director for IT Governance Support Services and Project Delivery Manager for
the Columbus, Ohio office of Sogeti USA will facilitate a discussion on IT governance. This topic will discuss
the following questions. How do you know if your IT
functions are effectively supporting business and compliance objectives? Is
senior management comfortable with the internal controls surrounding
technology? How do you assess, manage and monitor risks in your IT environment?
Are you using an industry standard framework for compliance?
Chris Farrar of Percipia will facilitate a
discussion on the application and implementation of unique and useful VoIP
services. These topics include linking information system together using VoIP
technology and using IP telephones to generate revenue.
